Tremores de terremoto de magnitude 4,0 sacodem Delhi e NCR
Tremores de terremoto de magnitude 4,0 foram sentidos na manhã de segunda-feira em Delhi e na NCR. De acordo com o Centro Nacional de Sismologia (NCS), o epicentro do terremoto estava a 5 quilômetros de profundidade perto de Jhilmil Park, Dhaula Kuan, em Delhi. O terremoto ocorreu às 5h36 da manhã e seus tremores foram sentidos por cerca de 35 segundos. Durante o terremoto, um som alto foi ouvido, o que deixou as pessoas assustadas e as fez sair de suas casas.
O primeiro-ministro Narendra Modi pediu às pessoas que mantivessem a calma e seguissem as precauções de segurança. Ele disse que as autoridades estão monitorando a situação e aconselhou a ficar alerta para possíveis tremores. A polícia de Delhi divulgou o número de emergência 112 para assistência.
Não houve perda de vidas ou danos materiais durante o terremoto. No entanto, as pessoas compartilharam suas experiências sobre os tremores nas redes sociais. Muitas pessoas também compartilharam vídeos de CCTV, mostrando ventiladores e outros objetos balançando durante o terremoto.
Delhi-NCR está na Zona Sísmica IV, que é sensível a terremotos de moderados a intensos. A área de Dhaula Kuan tem experimentado vários pequenos terremotos nos últimos anos. De acordo com os cientistas, a região é altamente suscetível a terremotos devido à atividade das placas tectônicas.
Líderes políticos também reagiram ao terremoto e desejaram segurança às pessoas. O líder do Partido Aam Aadmi, Arvind Kejriwal, e Atishi apelaram às pessoas para seguirem as diretrizes de segurança.
