Maura Higgins Joins 'I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' as a Latecomer
Maura Higgins has officially begun her journey on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, joining the 2024 cast as a late arrival alongside Reverend Richard Coles. Speculation around her participation has been rife, but her entry was confirmed during the show. Higgins expressed her excitement, stating that participating in this reality series has been a “real pinch-me moment” as it’s the only TV show she has ever wanted to do.
The former Love Island star, who first gained fame on the reality dating series in 2019, admitted to being “absolutely petrified” of many aspects of the jungle experience, particularly eating challenges and spending nights outdoors, as she has “never slept outside before.” Despite her fears, she aims to step outside her comfort zone, saying, “I hope I do make myself proud.”
In a candid conversation, Higgins also addressed her current single status, refuting speculations regarding her dating life, particularly a possible romance with reality star Pete Wicks. She emphasised that while she dates, she is “very much single” and finds the interest in her dating life a bit tiresome.
As she prepares to enter the camp, Higgins is looking forward to interacting with her fellow contestants, including the likes of Tulisa and Coleen Rooney. She has shown particular interest in discussing Rooney’s infamous legal feud with Rebekah Vardy, declaring herself “team Coleen.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues airing every night at 9 pm on ITV1, featuring a host of celebrities including Barry McGuigan, Danny Jones from McFly, and N-Dubz singer Tulisa.
