Fatal Crash Involving Vince Neil's Private Jet at Scottsdale Airport
A private jet owned by Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil was involved in a fatal crash at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday, 10 February 2025. The incident occurred when Neil’s Learjet 35A, which had just arrived from Austin, Texas, experienced landing gear failure upon touching down. The plane veered off the runway and collided with a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet.
One person was killed in the crash, and three others were injured, with two in critical condition. Neil was not on board at the time, but his plane carried two pilots and two passengers. Authorities confirmed that one victim was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by first responders before being transported to a trauma centre.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the cause of the crash. Neil’s representative released a statement expressing his condolences and gratitude to the first responders, noting that the situation remains under investigation.
The Scottsdale Airport temporarily closed the runway following the incident but reopened it later that evening. The crash has drawn attention amid a recent string of aviation incidents across the country.
Officials have not yet released the names of the victims, but a since-deleted social media post by Mötley Crüe suggested that one of Neil’s pilots died, while his girlfriend and her friend were among the injured. The company that owned the parked jet, Jet Pros, confirmed that one crew member was aboard at the time of the collision but was treated and released.
The aviation community and local officials, including Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky, have expressed their condolences to those affected by the tragedy.
