Lucy Punch Stars in New BBC Comedy 'Amandaland'
Lucy Punch reprises her role as Amanda in the BBC’s new comedy spin-off Amandaland, which premieres on Wednesday, 5th February 2025 at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer. The series follows Amanda as she navigates life after her divorce, relocating from Chiswick to a flat in South Harlesden with her two teenage children, Georgie and Manus, played by Miley Locke and Alexander Shaw respectively. The show explores her struggles with modern motherhood, including teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts, and eco-anxiety, while she attempts to rebuild her life.
Joanna Lumley returns as Amanda’s catty yet tender mother, Felicity, who is in denial about her loneliness. Philippa Dunne also reprises her role as Anne, Amanda’s long-suffering friend, who finds herself drawn back into Amanda’s chaotic orbit. New faces include Samuel Anderson as Mal, a landscaper living below Amanda; Siobhan McSweeney as Della, a no-nonsense chef; and Rochenda Sandall as Fi, Della’s eccentric partner. Peter Serafinowicz joins as Johannes, Amanda’s eccentric South African boyfriend.
The six-episode series, created by Holly Walsh, promises to deliver the same sharp wit and relatable chaos as its predecessor, Motherland, while introducing fresh dynamics and characters. Fans can catch the entire boxset on iPlayer from the premiere date.
