Bivol, 34, expressed his relief and joy after the fight, stating, “I wanted to win so much today. I was better, more confident, and lighter.” Beterbiev, 40, acknowledged the loss but hinted at a potential trilogy, saying, “We can do a third fight if we need to.”
On the undercard, Joseph Parker delivered a stunning second-round TKO victory over Martin Bakole to claim the WBO interim heavyweight title. Parker, weighing in at a career-heaviest, landed a devastating overhand right that sent Bakole to the canvas, prompting his corner to throw in the towel.
