氣象局建議居民為可能出現的交通中斷、道路封閉及電力中斷做好準備。公共運輸服務，如巴士和火車，也可能面臨延誤或取消。居民應檢查其物業是否面臨洪水風險，並準備好應急防洪包。當局亦警告，快速流動或深水洪水可能對部分地區的生命構成威脅。
此前的一個週末，大雪和凍雨導致廣泛的交通中斷，包括多個機場跑道關閉及整個交通網絡的延誤。預計從週一開始，氣溫將再次下降，帶來廣泛的霜凍及結冰威脅，特別是在英格蘭北部地區。這些地區的鄉村社區可能因大雪而被切斷，進一步的交通延誤及電力中斷也可能發生。
