उनका इस्तीफा इस बात का संकेत है कि पार्टी के भीतर गंभीर मतभेद बढ़ रहे हैं, विशेष रूप से दिल्ली शराब नीति मामले में पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया की गिरफ्तारी के बाद। गहलोत का इस्तीफा पार्टी से तीसरे मंत्री का जाना है, इससे पहले राजकुमार आनंद ने भाजपा में शामिल होने के लिए AAP छोड़ दिया था।
भाजपा ने गहलोत के इस्तीफे का स्वागत करते हुए इसे एक साहसिक कदम बताया, और दलील दी कि यह AAP के भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों को फिर से उजागर करता है। दूसरी ओर, AAP ने कहा है कि गहलोत को केंद्र सरकार द्वारा संचालित जांच एजेंसियों के दबाव में आकर इस्तीफा देना पड़ा।
बीजेपी के नेता ने कहा कि गहलोत के इस्तीफे से यह स्पष्ट होता है कि पार्टी की स्थिति कितनी खराब हो चुकी है, जबकि AAP ने गहलोत पर आरोप लगाया है कि वह बीजेपी की स्क्रिप्ट का अनुसरण कर रहे हैं।
गहलोत के इस्तीफे ने AAP की आगामी राजनीतिक रणनीतियों पर गंभीर सवाल उठाए हैं, और इन चुनावों में उनकी भूमिका को लेकर अटकलें तेज हो गई हैं।
