बांग्लादेश में लाखों किशोर लड़कियाँ HPV (ह्यूमन पैपिलोमा वायरस) टीकाकरण अभियान के दूसरे चरण में भाग ले रही हैं। इस अभियान में खासकर ढाका डिवीजन और अन्य ज़िलों की स्कूलों में टीका लगाया जा रहा है। टीकाकरण की प्रक्रिया सहज हो रही है क्योंकि छात्राएं ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण करवा रही हैं और अपनी टीकाकरण कार्ड को स्कूल के अध्यापकों को सौंप रही हैं।
इस टीकाकरण अभियान का उद्देश्य 2030 तक 15 साल की लड़कियों में 90% HPV टीकाकरण कवरेज हासिल करना है, जिससे सर्वाइकल कैंसर की रोकथाम की जा सके। बांग्लादेश में सर्वाइकल कैंसर महिलाओं में कैंसर से संबंधित मौतों का तीसरा प्रमुख कारण है।
इसी बीच, बांग्लादेश में मानसून बाढ़ और चक्रवात ‘रेमल’ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में फसल और खाद्य सुरक्षा पर गंभीर असर डाल रहे हैं। इस आपदा से 1.8 करोड़ लोग प्रभावित हुए हैं, जिसमें 55 लाख लोगों को तत्काल खाद्य सहायता की आवश्यकता है।
बांग्लादेश की अंतरिम सरकार ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना के खिलाफ मानवता के खिलाफ अपराधों के आरोपों के अंतर्गत परीक्षण की मांग की है। हसीना को अगस्त में छात्रों द्वारा आंदोलन के दौरान पद से हटने के बाद भारत में निर्वासित किया गया था। इस दौरान, अंतरिम सरकार ने हसीना और उनके सहयोगियों पर गिरफ्तारी के लिए इंटरपोल से सहायता मांगी है।
हाल की घटनाओं में, पाकिस्तान से सीधे मालवाहन जहाज के बांग्लादेश के चित्तगांव बंदरगाह पर आने से बांग्लादेश और पाकिस्तान के बीच संबंधों में सुधार दिखाई दे रहा है। यह घटना बांग्लादेश के नए अंतरिम नेतृत्व के दौरान हुई है और भारतीय अधिकारियों के लिए चिंता का कारण बनी हुई है।
इन घटनाओं के बीच, बांग्लादेश में लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया को पुनर्जीवित करने का प्रयास जारी है। अंतरिम नेता, मुहम्मद यूनुस, ने वादा किया है कि नई सरकार चुनावों के सुरक्षित और स्वतंत्र आयोजन के लिए सभी आवश्यक सुधार करेगी।
