महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा चुनाव 2024 के पहले, भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के महासचिव विनोद तावड़े को ‘कैश फॉर वोट’ विवाद में घिरने के आरोप का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। यह विवाद उस समय शुरू हुआ जब बहुजन विकास अघाड़ी (BVA) के नेताओं ने तावड़े पर आरोप लगाया कि वे मतदाताओं को प्रभावित करने के लिए 5 करोड़ रुपये वितरित कर रहे थे। BVA के नेता हितेंद्र ठाकुर और उनके समर्थकों ने तावड़े को नालासोपारा उम्मीदवार राजन नाइक के साथ एक होटल में बैठक के दौरान घेर लिया।
आरोपों के बीच चुनाव आयोग ने जांच के लिए पुलिस की एक टीम को होटल में भेजा, जहां ₹9.93 लाख नकद और कुछ दस्तावेज़ बरामद हुए। तावड़े ने सभी आरोपों को नकारते हुए कहा कि वे केवल चुनाव प्रक्रिया के बारे में पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं को मार्गदर्शन देने के लिए वहाँ थे। उन्होंने CCTV फुटेज की जांच करने की मांग की और आरोप लगाया कि यह सब विपक्ष के द्वारा राजनीतिक प्रतिशोध है।
सड़क पर बवाल होने के बाद, BVA के नेताओं ने तावड़े से कहा कि वे उन्हें मनी देने के लिए होटल में आए थे। विरोध के दौरान, कहा गया कि होटल ने CCTV रिकॉर्डिंग को बंद कर दिया था। इस घटना में तीन FIR भी दर्ज की गई हैं, जिनमें से एक तावड़े के खिलाफ चुनाव आचार संहिता का उल्लंघन करने को लेकर है।
भाजपा ने तावड़े का समर्थन करते हुए विपक्ष को इस पूरी घटना को राजनीतिक दृष्टिकोण से देखने का आरोप लगाया। पार्टी ने कहा कि इस तरह के आरोप चुनाव प्रचार के अंतिम दिन से पहले विपक्ष की निराशा का परिणाम हैं। महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने तावड़े की निर्दोषता की पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि तावड़े केवल पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं से मिलने के लिए वहाँ थे।
वहीं, विपक्ष ने इसे गंभीरता से लेते हुए चुनाव आयोग से मामले की निष्पक्ष जांच की मांग की है। कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी और शिवसेना के उद्धव ठाकरे ने घटना पर तीखी प्रतिक्रिया जताई है, आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि भाजपा मतदाताओं को पैसे देकर प्रभावित करने का प्रयास कर रही है।
इस विवाद ने चुनाव के पहले से ही भगवा दल को संकट में डाल दिया है, क्योंकि महाराष्ट्र की राजनीतिक स्थिति बेहद संवेदनशील है। वोटिंग 20 नवंबर को होगी और परिणाम 23 नवंबर को घोषित किए जाएंगे।
