विभिन्न रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, आदित्य ठाकरे ने वर्ली सीट से जीत हासिल की, जहाँ उन्होंने महज 8,801 वोटों के अंतर से जीत दर्ज की। उनके समर्थक और महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेना (MNS) के प्रमुख राज ठाकरे के भतीजे अमित ठाकरे ने महिम सीट पर तीसरे स्थान पर रहते हुए मतदान में निराशाजनक परिणाम का सामना किया।
महिम में हुए तीन-तरफा मुकाबले में, शिवसेना (यूबीटी) के महेश सावंत ने 50,213 वोट प्राप्त कर जीत हासिल की। दूसरी ओर, शिवसेना के सदा सर्वनकर ने 48,897 वोट प्राप्त किए, जबकि अमित ठाकरे ने 33,062 वोटों के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर अपनी पहली राजनीतिक अनुभव की समाप्ति की।
अमित ठाकरे ने स्पष्ट किया कि उन्होंने चुनाव को “राजकुमार” नहीं बल्कि एक सामान्य कार्यकर्ता की तरह लड़ा है। उन्होंने हार को स्वीकारते हुए कहा कि यह उनका शुरुआती कदम है और वे लोगों की अपेक्षाओं को पूरा करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत करेंगे।
हालांकि, राज ठाकरे की पार्टी MNS ने पूरे राज्य में एक भी सीट जीतने में असफलता पाई, केवल 1.5% मत शेयर के साथ। पिछले चुनावों के परिणाम और संगठन की कमजोर स्थिति को देखते हुए, ये परिणाम MNS के लिए गंभीर चिंता का विषय है।
उम्मीद की जा रही थी कि अमित यदि अपने चाचा उद्धव ठाकरे के समर्थन की अनुपस्थिति में अपनी पार्टी को जीत दिलाना चाहते थे, लेकिन अंततः यह चुनौतीपूर्ण साबित हुआ।
