जेद्दा, सऊदी अरब में 24 और 25 नवंबर 2024 को आयोजित IPL 2025 की मेगा नीलामी ने क्रिकेट प्रेमियों के बीच रोमांच पैदा कर दिया है। IPL के इतिहास में सबसे महंगे खिलाड़ी का खिताब रिषभ पंत को मिला, जिन्हें लखनऊ सुपर जायंट्स ने ₹27 करोड़ में ख़रीदा। यह कीमत शर्यस अय्यर के पिछले रिकॉर्ड ₹26.75 करोड़ को पार कर गई, जिन्हें पंजाब किंग्स ने अपने खेमे में शामिल किया।
नीलामी के पहले दिन कुल 577 खिलाड़ियों में से 72 खिलाड़ियों को ख़रीदा गया, जबकि 12 खिलाड़ी बिना बिके रह गए। वेंकटेश अय्यर ने भी ₹23.75 करोड़ की आकर्षक कीमत पर कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स में वापसी की। इस नीलामी में युजवेंद्र चहल को ₹18 करोड़ में पंजाब किंग्स ने ख़रीदा, जिससे वह IPL के सबसे महंगे भारतीय स्पिनर बन गए।
