वडोदरा के कोटांबी स्टेडियम में महिला प्रीमियर लीग (WPL) 2025 का शानदार आगाज हुआ, जहां गुजरात जायंट्स की कप्तान ऐशले गार्डनर ने रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर (RCB) के खिलाफ शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। गार्डनर ने प्रेमा रावत की गेंदबाजी पर लगातार तीन छक्के जड़कर 25 गेंदों में अपना अर्धशतक पूरा किया और गुजरात को 20 ओवर में 201/5 का स्कोर खड़ा करने में अहम भूमिका निभाई।

गुजरात की ओर से बेथ मूनी ने भी 42 गेंदों में 56 रन की पारी खेली, जबकि डिएंड्रा डॉटिन (25 रन) और सिमरन शेख (11 रन) ने तेज रफ्तार से रन बनाकर टीम को 200 के पार पहुंचाने में मदद की। RCB की ओर से रेनुका सिंह ने 2/25 के साथ सबसे अच्छी गेंदबाजी की, लेकिन बाकी गेंदबाजों को गुजरात के बल्लेबाजों के सामने संघर्ष करना पड़ा।
यह मैच WPL 2025 का पहला मुकाबला था, जिसमें गुजरात ने शानदार शुरुआत की। गार्डनर की इस पारी ने उन्हें टूर्नामेंट के शुरुआती दिनों में ही एक प्रमुख खिलाड़ी के रूप में स्थापित कर दिया।
