चुनाव से पहले, मालीवाल ने दिल्ली की यमुना नदी की सफाई और अन्य नागरिक मुद्दों को उठाते हुए केजरीवाल के आवास के बाहर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने दिल्ली की गंदगी, जलभराव और खराब बुनियादी ढांचे जैसी समस्याओं को उजागर किया, जिन्हें AAP ने हल करने का वादा किया था। मालीवाल ने पार्टी के भीतर अलग-थलग महसूस किया और उन्होंने AAP के खिलाफ अपनी लड़ाई जारी रखी।
चुनाव परिणामों के दिन, मालीवाल ने सोशल मीडिया पर महाभारत के द्रौपदी के चीरहरण की एक पेंटिंग साझा की, जिसे उनकी व्यक्तिगत और राजनीतिक पीड़ा के प्रतीक के रूप में देखा गया। AAP को इस चुनाव में भारी हार का सामना करना पड़ा, और BJP ने 27 साल बाद दिल्ली में सरकार बनाने का रास्ता साफ कर लिया। मालीवाल ने इस हार को AAP के भीतर व्यवस्थागत विफलता के रूप में देखा और उन्होंने पार्टी के खिलाफ अपनी लड़ाई जारी रखने का संकल्प दिखाया।
मालीवाल ने कहा कि वह AAP को छोड़ने का इरादा नहीं रखती हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने पार्टी के लिए 18 साल तक खून-पसीना बहाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि वह पार्टी के भीतर गलत चीजों पर सवाल उठाती रहेंगी। AAP के भविष्य और मालीवाल की भूमिका को लेकर अनिश्चितता बनी हुई है, लेकिन उनकी राजनीतिक यात्रा में नई ऊंचाइयों की संभावना दिख रही है।
