फिल्म की कहानी कोच्चि के अंडरवर्ल्ड पर आधारित है, जहां मार्को नाम का एक गैंगस्टर अपने सौतेले भाई की हत्या का बदला लेने के लिए निकलता है। फिल्म ने अपने ग्राफिक हिंसा और एक्शन सीक्वेंस के लिए चर्चा बटोरी है, हालांकि इसके हिंसक चित्रण पर कुछ आलोचनाएं भी हुई हैं। उन्नी मुकुंदन ने इस आलोचना का जवाब देते हुए कहा कि फिल्म में दिखाई गई हिंसा समाज में मौजूद हिंसा का केवल 10% ही है।
फिल्म की सफलता ने उन्नी मुकुंदन को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान दिलाई है। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें केरल में फिल्म की सफलता की उम्मीद थी, लेकिन हिंदी दर्शकों का प्यार उनके लिए आश्चर्यजनक था। फिल्म का हिंदी संस्करण डिजिटल प्रमोशन के माध्यम से रिलीज किया गया था, जिसे दर्शकों ने खूब सराहा।
मार्को अब 14 फरवरी, 2025 से सोनी लिव पर स्ट्रीमिंग के लिए उपलब्ध होगी। फिल्म में सिद्दीक, जगदीश, अभिमन्यु शम्मी थिलकन और युक्ति थरेजा जैसे कलाकारों ने भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिकाएं निभाई हैं। फिल्म की गहन कहानी, जटिल पात्र और रोमांचक प्लॉट इसे ओटीटी पर एक बेहतरीन थ्रिलर बनाते हैं।
