राजत पाटीदार बने आरसीबी के नए कप्तान
रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलुरु (आरसीबी) ने आईपीएल 2025 के लिए राजत पाटीदार को अपना नया कप्तान घोषित किया है। यह घोषणा 13 फरवरी, 2025 को केएससीए एजीएम हॉल में एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान की गई। राजत पाटीदार, जो पहले से ही मध्य प्रदेश की टीम का नेतृत्व कर चुके हैं, आरसीबी के आठवें कप्तान बन गए हैं।
विराट कोहली, जिन्होंने पिछले कई सालों तक आरसीबी का नेतृत्व किया था, ने इस फैसले का समर्थन किया और कहा कि राजत इस भूमिका के लिए पूरी तरह से योग्य हैं। कोहली ने कहा, “राजत, मैं तुम्हें बधाई देता हूं। तुमने इस फ्रैंचाइज़ी में अपनी जगह बनाई है और यह तुम्हारे लिए बहुत ही योग्य है। मैं और टीम के अन्य सदस्य तुम्हारे साथ खड़े रहेंगे।”
आरसीबी के हेड कोच एंडी फ्लावर ने राजत की कप्तानी के लिए तीन मुख्य गुणों की सराहना की: शांत और सरल स्वभाव, टीम के साथियों के प्रति देखभाल, और दृढ़ता। फ्लावर ने कहा, “राजत में एक जिद्दीपन और मजबूती है जो उन्हें आईपीएल के उतार-चढ़ाव में मदद करेगी।”
राजत पाटीदार ने अपनी कप्तानी के बारे में बात करते हुए कहा, “पिछले साल मैंने मो बोबट से बात की थी और उन्होंने मुझसे कप्तानी के बारे में पूछा था। मैंने कहा था कि मैं पहले राज्य टीम की कप्तानी करना चाहूंगा। अब यह मौका मिला है और मैं इसे पूरी ईमानदारी से निभाऊंगा।”
आरसीबी ने पिछले सीज़न में फाफ डु प्लेसिस को रिलीज़ कर दिया था, जिसके बाद टीम को एक नए कप्तान की तलाश थी। राजत पाटीदार, जिन्हें 11 करोड़ रुपये में रिटेन किया गया था, अब इस जिम्मेदारी को संभालेंगे। उन्होंने आईपीएल 2021 में डेब्यू किया था और तब से वे आरसीबी का अहम हिस्सा रहे हैं।
राजत की नियुक्ति आरसीबी के लिए एक नई दिशा का संकेत है, जो अब तक विराट कोहली और फाफ डु प्लेसिस जैसे अनुभवी खिलाड़ियों के नेतृत्व में रही है। कोहली ने 2013 से 2021 तक टीम का नेतृत्व किया और 2016 में आरसीबी को फाइनल तक पहुंचाया।
राजत पाटीदार ने कहा कि वे टीम के अनुभवी सदस्यों से सीखने के लिए तैयार हैं और टीम को सफलता दिलाने के लिए पूरी मेहनत करेंगे।
