यूट्यूबर रणवीर अल्लाहबदिया ने हाल ही में स्टैंड-अप कॉमेडियन समय रैना के शो ‘इंडियाज़ गॉट लेटेंट’ में एक विवादास्पद टिप्पणी करने के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर बवाल मचा दिया। शो के दौरान, रणवीर ने एक प्रतियोगी से एक अश्लील सवाल पूछा, जिसे दर्शकों ने आपत्तिजनक और अनुचित माना। इसके बाद उन्होंने सार्वजनिक रूप से माफी मांगी और कहा कि उनकी टिप्पणी “अनुचित और मजाकिया भी नहीं थी।” उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि कॉमेडी उनकी विशेषता नहीं है और उन्होंने इस अनुभव से सीख ली है।
इस घटना के बाद, मुंबई पुलिस और महिला आयोग के पास शिकायतें दर्ज की गईं, जिसमें रणवीर और अन्य कॉमेडियन के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की गई। शिकायतकर्ताओं ने कहा कि यह टिप्पणी महिलाओं के प्रति अनादर और बच्चों के मन में गलत विचार पैदा करने वाली है। इसके अलावा, गायक बी प्राक ने रणवीर के पॉडकास्ट में शामिल होने से इनकार कर दिया और उनकी सोच को “दयनीय” बताया।
महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने भी इस मामले पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा कि हर किसी को अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता है, लेकिन यह स्वतंत्रता दूसरों की स्वतंत्रता को प्रभावित करने पर समाप्त हो जाती है। उन्होंने कहा कि यदि कोई सीमा पार करता है, तो कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
रणवीर ने अपनी माफी में कहा कि उन्होंने अपने प्लेटफॉर्म का गलत इस्तेमाल किया और वे इससे सीख लेंगे। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि उन्होंने वीडियो के संवेदनशील हिस्सों को हटाने के लिए शो के निर्माताओं से अनुरोध किया है।
