ऑस्ट्रेलिया की ओर से स्टीव स्मिथ ने 29 रन बनाए, लेकिन उनके अलावा कोई भी बल्लेबाज 22 रन से आगे नहीं जा सका। श्रीलंका की गेंदबाजी इकाई ने पूरे मैच में ऑस्ट्रेलिया को कभी भी स्कोरबोर्ड पर आगे बढ़ने नहीं दिया।
