RBI ने न्यू इंडिया को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक पर लगाए गंभीर प्रतिबंध
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने मुंबई स्थित न्यू इंडिया को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक पर गंभीर प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं। 13 फरवरी, 2025 से प्रभावी ये प्रतिबंध छह महीने के लिए लागू होंगे। बैंक के ग्राहक अब अपने खातों से पैसे नहीं निकाल पाएंगे। इसके अलावा, बैंक को नए लोन देने, नए निवेश स्वीकार करने या कोई भुगतान करने से रोक दिया गया है। RBI ने यह कदम बैंक की वित्तीय स्थिति को लेकर उठाए गए चिंताओं के बाद उठाया है।
RBI के अनुसार, बैंक की तरलता की स्थिति खराब है, जिसके कारण ग्राहकों के हितों की रक्षा के लिए यह कदम उठाया गया है। हालांकि, जमाकर्ताओं को जमा बीमा योजना के तहत 5 लाख रुपये तक की सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाएगी। बैंक को कर्मचारियों के वेतन, किराया और बिजली बिल जैसे आवश्यक खर्चों के लिए भुगतान करने की अनुमति दी गई है।
इसके साथ ही, RBI ने बैंक के बोर्ड को भंग कर दिया है और श्रीकांत, भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के पूर्व मुख्य महाप्रबंधक को प्रशासक नियुक्त किया है। उनकी सहायता के लिए एक सलाहकार समिति भी गठित की गई है। बैंक के वित्तीय स्थिति में सुधार होने तक यह प्रतिबंध जारी रहेंगे।
न्यू इंडिया को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक पिछले दो वित्तीय वर्षों से घाटे में चल रहा है। वित्तीय वर्ष 2024 में बैंक को 23 करोड़ रुपये का नुकसान हुआ था। इस कदम के बाद बैंक की शाखाओं के बाहर ग्राहकों की भीड़ जमा हो गई, लेकिन वे अपने पैसे निकालने में असमर्थ हैं।
