जर्मनी के आम चुनावों में कंजर्वेटिव पार्टी CDU/CSU ने जीत दर्ज की है, जिसके बाद फ्रेडरिक मेर्ज़ देश के अगले चांसलर बनने की राह पर हैं। चुनाव परिणामों के मुताबिक, CDU/CSU को लगभग 28% वोट मिले, जबकि दक्षिणपंथी पार्टी AfD ने 20% से अधिक वोट हासिल कर इतिहास रच दिया। यह द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद किसी दक्षिणपंथी पार्टी का सबसे बड़ा प्रदर्शन है।
AfD ने पूर्वी जर्मनी में 34% वोट हासिल कर सबसे मजबूत पार्टी के रूप में उभरी है, जो देश के एकीकरण के बाद से चली आ रही असंतोष की भावना को दर्शाता है। वहीं, CDU/CSU ने दक्षिण, पश्चिम और उत्तर में जीत हासिल की।
फ्रेडरिक मेर्ज़ ने सरकार बनाने के लिए गठबंधन वार्ता शुरू करने की बात कही है, हालांकि उन्होंने AfD के साथ किसी भी सहयोग से इनकार कर दिया है। विश्लेषकों का मानना है कि CDU/CSU और SPD के बीच ग्रैंड कोलिशन बनने की संभावना है।
दुनिया भर के नेताओं ने मेर्ज़ को बधाई दी है। अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने जर्मनी के चुनाव परिणामों को अमेरिका में बदलती राजनीतिक भावनाओं से जोड़ते हुए इसे “जर्मनी और अमेरिका के लिए एक महान दिन” बताया। फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रों ने फ्रांस-जर्मनी साझेदारी को मजबूत करने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई।
जर्मनी अब गठबंधन वार्ता के एक जटिल दौर में प्रवेश कर रहा है, जो देश की राजनीतिक दिशा को निर्धारित करेगा।
