मोहन बागान ने लगातार दूसरी बार जीता ISL लीग शील्ड
मोहन बागान सुपर जायंट ने 23 फरवरी, 2025 को कोलकाता के विवेकानंद युवा भारती क्रिरंगन (साल्ट लेक स्टेडियम) में ओडिशा एफसी को 1-0 से हराकर लगातार दूसरी बार इंडियन सुपर लीग (ISL) लीग शील्ड जीत लिया। मैच का निर्णायक गोल ऑस्ट्रेलियाई स्ट्राइकर डिमित्री पेट्राटोस ने 93वें मिनट में किया, जिसने मोहन बागान को शीर्षक दिलाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
मैच के दौरान ओडिशा एफसी के कप्तान मौर्तादा फॉल को 85वें मिनट में लाल कार्ड दिखाया गया, जिससे उनकी टीम 10 खिलाड़ियों के साथ खेलने को मजबूर हो गई। इसके बाद मोहन बागान ने संख्यात्मक बढ़त का फायदा उठाते हुए दबाव बनाया और अंततः पेट्राटोस के गोल ने उन्हें जीत दिला दी।
मोहन बागान ने इस जीत के साथ ही ISL इतिहास में लगातार दूसरी बार लीग शील्ड जीतने वाली पहली टीम बनने का रिकॉर्ड बनाया। इससे पहले उन्होंने 21 मैचों में 49 अंक हासिल करके पहले ही एक नया कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया था।
मैच के दौरान ओडिशा एफसी के गोलकीपर अमरिंदर सिंह ने कई शानदार सेव किए, लेकिन वे टीम को हार से नहीं बचा सके। मोहन बागान के गोलकीपर विशाल कैथ ने भी ह्यूगो बाउमस के शॉट को बचाकर टीम को क्लीन शीट दिलाने में मदद की।
इस जीत के साथ मोहन बागान ने ISL 2024-25 सीजन में अपनी श्रेष्ठता साबित कर दी और लीग शील्ड के साथ-साथ प्लेऑफ में भी शीर्ष सीड के रूप में प्रवेश किया।
