विक्की कौशल की फिल्म छावा ने बॉक्स ऑफिस पर शानदार शुरुआत की है। 14 फरवरी, 2025 को रिलीज हुई इस फिल्म ने पहले दिन ही 31 करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया, जो 2025 का सबसे बड़ा ओपनिंग है। यह फिल्म विक्की कौशल के करियर की सबसे बड़ी ओपनिंग भी बन गई है, जिसने उनकी पिछली फिल्म उरी: द सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक के 8.20 करोड़ रुपये के रिकॉर्ड को पीछे छोड़ दिया। इसके अलावा, छावा ने वैलेंटाइन डे पर रिलीज होने वाली फिल्मों में भी रिकॉर्ड तोड़ा है और गली बॉय के 19.40 करोड़ रुपये के रिकॉर्ड को पीछे छोड़ दिया है।
फिल्म ने हिंदी सर्किट में 35.17% ऑक्यूपेंसी के साथ शुरुआत की और सभी भाषाओं में 31 करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया। इसके साथ ही, छावा ने अक्षय कुमार की फिल्म स्काई फोर्स के 15.30 करोड़ रुपये के ओपनिंग डे कलेक्शन को भी पीछे छोड़ दिया है।
छावा एक ऐतिहासिक एक्शन फिल्म है, जो मराठा राजा संभाजी के जीवन पर आधारित है। इसमें विक्की कौशल ने संभाजी की भूमिका निभाई है, जबकि रश्मिका मंदन्ना महारानी येसूबाई, अक्षय खन्ना औरंगजेब, अशुतोष राणा सरसेनापति हंबीराव मोहिते और दिव्या दत्ता सोयराबाई के रूप में नजर आई हैं। फिल्म का निर्देशन लक्ष्मण उतेकर ने किया है और इसे दिनेश विजन के बैनर मैडॉक फिल्म्स के तहत बनाया गया है। फिल्म का संगीत ए.आर. रहमान ने दिया है, जबकि गीत इरशाद कामिल ने लिखे हैं।
