Steelers Edge Ravens in AFC North Thriller
The Pittsburgh Steelers secured a narrow 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in a closely contested AFC North showdown at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. The win improved the Steelers’ record to 8-2, while the Ravens fell to 7-4.
The game featured strong defensive performances from both teams, but it was the Steelers’ special teams that shined, with Chris Boswell kicking six field goals. The Steelers managed to limit the Ravens’ high-powered offense to just 329 total yards and managed to exploit three turnovers, including two fumbles and an interception by rookie linebacker Payton Wilson.
Lamar Jackson struggled against the Steelers’ defense, completing 16 of 33 passes for 207 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. Derrick Henry contributed a rushing touchdown, but Pittsburgh’s defense stymied the Ravens during crucial moments of the game.
The Steelers opened the scoring with a 32-yard field goal by Boswell, capitalizing on an early fumble by Henry. Baltimore briefly took the lead at 7-6 with a 1-yard touchdown run by Henry, but the Steelers regained the advantage with a pair of Boswell field goals, entering halftime with a narrow 9-7 lead.
In the second half, the teams traded field goals, but the Steelers extended their lead to 18-10 late in the game. Jackson connected with Zay Flowers for a 16-yard touchdown with just over a minute remaining, bringing the Ravens within two points. However, a failed two-point conversion attempt sealed Baltimore’s fate, marking another defeat against their fierce rivals.
The Steelers’ victory marked their eighth win against the Ravens in their last nine matchups, solidifying their lead in the AFC North. The Ravens now have to regroup as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
