Houston Astros Announce Naming Rights Deal with Daikin for Ballpark
The Houston Astros have announced a new 15-year naming rights partnership with Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc., which will change the name of their home stadium from Minute Maid Park to Daikin Park, effective January 1, 2025. This agreement will run through the 2039 MLB season and aims to strengthen community ties through various educational and sports development initiatives.
Daikin, a leading provider of indoor comfort solutions and the largest HVAC manufacturer in North America, operates a substantial facility in Waller, Texas, employing around 10,000 people in the Greater Houston area. “We are excited to be partnering with Daikin for our ballpark’s naming rights,” stated Jim Crane, Owner and Chairman of the Houston Astros, highlighting both organizations’ shared commitment to excellence and community support.
The stadium, which has undergone several name changes since its opening in 2000 as Enron Field, was known as Minute Maid Park for over two decades. Minute Maid, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola, will continue as a marketing partner of the Astros until 2029. The former name, a favored moniker among fans, “The Juice Box,” will officially transition to Daikin Park, with the first game scheduled for March 24, 2025.
Daikin’s partnership is expected to contribute to enhancing stadium amenities and deepen connections with local communities. The Astros intend to reveal new branding elements associated with Daikin Park at the 2025 season opener against the New York Mets on March 27. As the organization moves forward, it aims to create special experiences for fans while continuing its tradition of community engagement through the Astros Foundation.
