By approximately 5:21 p.m. ET, some users began to see the service restore, although irregular access and slow loading times persisted.
During the outage, users flocked to alternative social media platforms to express their frustrations and share memes. Notably, Bluesky, a newer competitor, also faced minor outages as its user load surged during Reddit’s downtime.
Reddit’s official updates indicated that they were investigating the issues and working to restore service. By the evening, the platform announced that it had resolved the outage and was “monitoring the results.” While access had been largely restored, some functionalities remained sluggish.
