Shemar Moore Opens Up About Fatherhood and Family Life
Shemar Moore, the 54-year-old actor best known for his roles in S.W.A.T. and Criminal Minds, has opened up about his journey into fatherhood and his decision not to expand his family further. Moore, who welcomed his daughter Frankie with girlfriend Jesiree Dizon in January 2023, has described fatherhood as a life-changing experience that gave him purpose after the loss of his mother, Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore, in 2020.
During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Moore shared that Frankie, now 2 years old, is his “miracle” and has “saved his life.” He expressed that after his mother’s passing, he felt lost and questioned the meaning of his life until Frankie came along. Moore credited his mother and God for orchestrating Frankie’s arrival, fulfilling his mother’s dream of him becoming a father.
Moore also revealed that he has no plans to have another child, citing his age and the fact that his home is already full. In addition to Frankie, Moore is a stepfather to Dizon’s two children from previous relationships: a 6-year-old daughter, Charli, and an 18-year-old son, Kaiden. He emphasized that he wants to devote the rest of his life to being the best father he can be to Frankie, saying, “Whatever time left, God willing, I want to give it all to my baby girl.”
The actor, who became a father at 52, has been vocal about how much Frankie has transformed his life, calling her his “everything” and expressing gratitude for the joy she brings. Moore’s journey into fatherhood has been a deeply personal one, and he continues to cherish his role as a dad, focusing on creating lasting memories with his daughter.
