McIlroy and Lowry Trail Straka by One Shot at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are tied for second place, one shot behind leader Sepp Straka, heading into the final round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. McIlroy, a four-time major champion, credited a mindset shift for his strong performance, emphasizing smarter play and minimizing mistakes. “I’m trying to play more bogey-free rounds,” McIlroy said. “It feels a little more boring at times, but it’s definitely more effective.” Lowry, who started his round with birdie, eagle, birdie, joked about the weather, saying, “I live in Florida for a reason. The final round will feature a star-studded leaderboard, with Justin Rose, Tom Kim, and Cam Davis two shots behind Straka at 14 under. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, making his first PGA Tour appearance of the season after recovering from a hand injury, is at 10 under. McIlroy and Lowry will tee off in the final pairing with Straka at 1:15 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The tournament concludes at Pebble Beach, one of golf’s most iconic venues, with live coverage on Golf Channel and CBS, as well as streaming on PGA Tour Live via ESPN+. A win for McIlroy would mark his first victory in California since 2015 and solidify his status as one of the game’s elite players.
