Deadly Shooting at Ohio Cosmetics Warehouse Leads to Arrest

A suspect has been arrested following a deadly shooting at a cosmetics warehouse in New Albany, Ohio, that left two people dead and four others injured. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the KDC/One facility on Smith’s Mill Road North. The suspect, identified as Bruce Reginald Foster III, was apprehended in Columbus on Wednesday after a brief manhunt. He faces a charge of aggravated murder, with a bond recommendation of $20 million.

According to New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones, the shooting appeared to be a “targeted type of attack,” though the motive remains unclear. Foster, who reportedly worked at the facility, had been in the building for several hours before the shooting. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and security footage shows Foster entering and exiting the building. Police do not believe the person who drove Foster to the facility was involved in the incident.

The victims included one person pronounced dead at the scene and another who succumbed to injuries at the hospital. Four others remain hospitalized, with their conditions unknown. Approximately 150 people were evacuated to a neighboring building during the incident, and no additional threats were reported.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police, and the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, responded to the scene. The KDC/One warehouse, which manufactures cosmetics for LBrands stores, will remain closed indefinitely as the investigation continues. New Albany schools remained open on Wednesday.

Chief Jones described the situation as “heartbreaking and tragic,” emphasizing that officers were prepared to respond swiftly and effectively. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
