2025 NFL Honors; Celebrating the Stars of the 2024 Season

The 2025 NFL Honors ceremony, held on February 6 at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans, celebrated the standout performances and achievements of the 2024 NFL season. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the event recognized the league’s top players, coaches, and moments, including the announcement of The Associated Press’ NFL awards and the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named the AP Most Valuable Player after a stellar season. Allen led the Bills to a 13-4 record, an AFC East division title, and an appearance in the AFC Championship Game. He accounted for 41 total touchdowns and minimized negative plays, showcasing his leadership and consistency despite losing key offensive weapons.

The AP Offensive Player of the Year award went to Saquon Barkley, the Philadelphia Eagles running back. Barkley became the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season, leading the league in yards from scrimmage (2,283) and scoring 15 touchdowns. His dominant performances were instrumental in the Eagles’ playoff run.

On the defensive side, Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year. Surtain recorded four interceptions, 11 passes defended, and allowed just two completions of 20+ yards, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s premier defensive backs.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell earned the AP Coach of the Year award. Despite losing rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy to a preseason injury, O’Connell guided the Vikings to a 14-3 record with backup Sam Darnold, who posted career-high numbers under his leadership. The Vikings’ defense also ranked fifth in scoring and tied for first in turnovers forced.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was honored as the AP Comeback Player of the Year. After suffering a season-ending wrist injury in 2023, Burrow returned to lead the league in passing yards (4,918) and touchdowns (43) in 2024, showcasing his resilience and elite playmaking ability.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels took home the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The No. 2 overall pick led the Commanders to a 12-5 record, breaking rookie records for completion percentage (69%) and rushing yards (891) while demonstrating remarkable poise in clutch moments.

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse was named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. The first-round pick recorded 66 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 18 QB hits, making an immediate impact on the Rams’ defense.

The event also highlighted other notable awards, including the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, which went to Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Arik Armstead, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025, which was revealed during the ceremony.

The 2025 NFL Honors celebrated a season of remarkable achievements, setting the stage for another exciting year of football.
