The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, winning 48 out of 70 seats. After this victory, the party now faces the challenge of selecting a new Chief Minister for Delhi. The BJP has not yet announced its candidate for the Chief Minister’s post, but several senior leaders of the party are being discussed.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that the selection of the Chief Minister will be made by the party’s central leadership. Prominent leaders being discussed include former MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Vijender Gupta, Manoj Tiwari, and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva. Parvesh Verma has established himself as a strong contender by defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi Assembly seat.
Vijender Gupta, who has won the Rohini seat for the third consecutive time, is considered popular among the BJP’s business class. Meanwhile, Manoj Tiwari is the face of the party among Purvanchali voters. Additionally, there is a possibility that the party’s central leadership may choose a surprising candidate, as seen previously in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand.
The BJP has returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, and this victory is a significant achievement for the party. Now, it remains to be seen who the party chooses as the new Chief Minister of Delhi.
