Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith has etched his name into football history by becoming just the fifth player ever to win a Heisman Trophy, a college national championship, and a Super Bowl. Smith achieved this milestone after the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. He joins an elite group of Hall of Famers, including Charles Woodson, Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett, and Reggie Bush, who have accomplished the same feat. Notably, Smith is the only wide receiver to have achieved all three honors.

Smith, who won national championships at Alabama in 2017 and 2020, capped off his collegiate career by winning the Heisman Trophy in 2020. In the Super Bowl, he led the Eagles with 69 receiving yards and scored a touchdown, contributing to the team’s 40–22 victory. Throughout the playoffs, Smith consistently delivered, recording four receptions in every game.

The Louisiana native also reflected on his journey, crediting his hometown of Amite and his early mentor, Cletis Gordon, for inspiring his dedication to the sport. Smith expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl near his hometown, allowing him to share the moment with family and friends. He also highlighted his appreciation for his longtime barber, Vincent Sanders, who has supported him since childhood.

Smith’s performance against the Chiefs has been consistently strong, averaging over 100 receiving yards per game in his three matchups against them. However, he emphasized that the ultimate goal is winning, regardless of individual stats. With a Super Bowl ring now in his possession, Smith has solidified his place among football’s greatest players.
