Fatal Crash Involving Vince Neil's Private Jet at Scottsdale Airport
A private jet owned by Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil was involved in a fatal crash at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday, February 10, 2025. The Learjet 35A, registered to Neil’s company Chromed in Hollywood Inc., veered off the runway during landing due to a landing gear failure, colliding with a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet. The incident resulted in one fatality and left three others seriously injured.
The pilot who died was identified as Joie Vitosky, a 78-year-old Marine veteran. Among the injured were Neil’s girlfriend, Rain Hannah Andreani, and her friend, both of whom were passengers on the jet. Neil was not on board at the time of the crash. His representative released a statement expressing his condolences and gratitude to first responders, noting that the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio confirmed that one person was trapped in the wreckage but was rescued and transported to a trauma center in critical condition. The airport’s runway was temporarily closed following the incident but reopened later that evening. Authorities emphasized that the crash was a tragic accident and praised the swift response of emergency personnel.
The crash occurred as Neil’s jet was arriving from Austin, Texas. The incident has drawn significant attention, particularly given Neil’s prominence as the frontman of Mötley Crüe, a band with a decades-long legacy in rock music. The band is scheduled to begin a Las Vegas residency later this year.
