The voting process revealed some surprising decisions, including one voter, Jim Miller, a former NFL player and SiriusXM radio host, who placed Jackson fourth on his ballot. Miller’s vote sparked controversy, as Jackson was widely regarded as one of the top two candidates, having been named the 2024 first-team All-Pro by the same group of voters. Despite the outlier, Jackson and Allen were ranked first or second on nearly every ballot, with the exception of Miller’s.
The MVP race highlighted the exceptional performances of both quarterbacks. Allen led the Bills to a strong season, showcasing his dual-threat abilities, while Jackson continued to dominate with his dynamic playmaking for the Ravens. The close margin underscored the competitive nature of the award and the high level of play from both candidates.
In addition to the MVP award, the NFL Honors ceremony recognized other standout players, including Saquon Barkley as Offensive Player of the Year, Patrick Surtain II as Defensive Player of the Year, and Jayden Daniels as Offensive Rookie of the Year. The event celebrated the league’s top performers, capping off an exciting 2024 NFL season.
