At the time of the ad’s airing, Yeezy’s website prominently featured a single item: a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika, labeled “HH-01,” which many interpreted as a reference to “Heil Hitler.” The Anti-Defamation League condemned the move, stating, “There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior,” and highlighting the symbol’s association with hate and white supremacy.
West’s actions come amid a series of inflammatory social media posts, including praise for Adolf Hitler, self-identification as a Nazi, and derogatory comments about women and minorities. Despite widespread criticism, West has refused to apologize, doubling down on his statements and claiming he is in a “positive space.” The rapper also deactivated his X (formerly Twitter) account shortly after the commercial aired.
