Kenny Pickett Celebrates First Super Bowl Victory with Philadelphia Eagles

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, has secured his first Super Bowl victory as part of Super Bowl LIX. Pickett, who was traded to the Eagles last offseason after his tenure with the Steelers ended, served as the backup to starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. Despite limited playing time during the season, Pickett contributed to the Eagles’ dominant 40-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the championship game.

Pickett, a New Jersey native and former Pitt football legend, was the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He started for the Steelers during his rookie and sophomore seasons but was traded after the team signed Russell Wilson. In his five games with the Eagles, Pickett threw for 291 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Joining Pickett in celebrating the Super Bowl win were other former Steelers, including offensive tackles Fred Johnson and Le’Raven Clark, and punter Braden Mann. The victory marked a significant milestone for Pickett, who grew up an Eagles fan and now fulfills a childhood dream by winning a championship with his hometown team.

Pickett’s time with the Steelers saw him compile a 14-10 record as a starter, completing 62.4% of his passes for 4,479 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. With one year remaining on his rookie contract, Pickett enters the offseason as a Super Bowl champion, adding a bright spot to his NFL career.
