Philadelphia Celebrates Eagles' Super Bowl Victory with Green-Themed Parade
Philadelphia was awash in green on Valentine’s Day as fans celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory with a parade through the City of Brotherly Love. The festivities began with MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, igniting cheers from the sea of fans who had camped out overnight along the parade route. The celebration culminated at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where players delivered impassioned speeches on the iconic “Rocky” steps.
Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley shared the stage with Ryan Quigley, a Montgomery County native and survivor of the New Orleans terror attack. Barkley praised the resilience of Philadelphians, saying, “You guys are tough, you guys are resilient, and you guys know how to fight.” Quigley echoed the sentiment, leading the crowd in a spirited “E-A-G-L-E-S” chant.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown channeled his inner Rocky, shouting “Adrian!” from the museum steps before addressing his critics. “They said I was a diva. They said all I cared about was stats. But one thing you can get right: I’m a [expletive] champion,” Brown declared, drawing roars from the crowd.
Eagles guard Landon Dickerson delivered an expletive-laden speech, thanking fans for their unwavering support. “We brought home that Lombardi baby,” he said, reflecting on the team’s journey from their 2023 Super Bowl loss to their triumphant victory this year.
The parade was not without its mishaps. Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman was reportedly hit in the head with a beer can, leaving a visible wound. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro joked about the incident, saying, “Philly, you put on a hell of a parade today. Except for some of y’all who didn’t know how to toss a beer nicely.”
The celebration also featured surprise appearances, including former Eagles center Jason Kelce, who made a stop at McGillin’s Olde Ale House to buy drinks for the crowd. Kelce, a fan favorite, was greeted with cheers as he reminisced about his early days with the team.
As the parade concluded, the Eagles and their fans reveled in the hard-fought victory, with players expressing gratitude for the city’s support. “We’re two-time world champs, and we’re coming back strong,” Roseman declared, encapsulating the spirit of the day.
