Shopify Shuts Down Kanye West's Yeezy Website Over Antisemitic Content

Shopify has shut down Kanye West’s Yeezy website following a series of antisemitic posts and the sale of swastika T-shirts on the platform. The e-commerce giant stated that the site was removed for violating its terms of service, citing “inauthentic commerce practices.” The Yeezy website, yeezy.com, briefly featured a $20 white T-shirt with a black swastika, labeled “HH-01,” which the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) identified as shorthand for “Heil Hitler.” It remains unclear if any of the shirts were sold before the site was taken down.

West’s talent agency, 33&West, also dropped him as a client, citing his “harmful and hateful remarks.” The rapper’s X account was deactivated after he posted a series of antisemitic and misogynistic messages, including declarations of love for Adolf Hitler and claims of being a Nazi. In one post, West criticized Taylor Swift for singing along to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance, accusing her of being used by “white people and Jews.”

The controversy follows a Super Bowl ad promoting the Yeezy website, which aired in the Los Angeles area. In the ad, West appeared in a dentist’s chair, claiming he spent the commercial budget on new teeth and filmed the spot on an iPhone. The ADL condemned West’s actions, calling them a “flagrant and unequivocal display of hate.”

West’s recent behavior has led to widespread backlash, including a lawsuit from a former Yeezy employee alleging antisemitic harassment. The rapper, who recently revealed an autism diagnosis, has faced significant financial and professional consequences, losing partnerships with major brands like Adidas and Balenciaga. Despite claiming to be a billionaire again, Forbes estimates his net worth at $400 million, down from his previous billionaire status.
