Sony’s February 2025 State of Play event delivered a packed showcase of upcoming PlayStation 5 games, featuring nearly 30 announcements, trailers, and release dates. The 40-minute presentation highlighted a diverse lineup of titles, including highly anticipated remakes, new IPs, and expansions for existing franchises.

Key announcements included the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, set to launch on August 28, 2025. The remake of the 2004 classic will feature updated visuals, the return of the Cobra Unit, and the beloved Snake vs. Monkey minigame. Additionally, Days Gone Remastered was revealed for PS5, arriving on April 25, 2025, with enhanced graphics, new modes, and DualSense integration.

Capcom showcased Monster Hunter Wilds, set to release on February 28, 2025, with a new trailer introducing the returning monster Mizutsune. Meanwhile, Onimusha: Way of the Sword debuted its first trailer, featuring a new protagonist modeled after the late Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, and is slated for a 2026 release. A remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny will arrive sooner, on May 23, 2025.

Other notable reveals included Borderlands 4, launching September 23, 2025, with a gameplay reveal planned for later this spring, and Saros, a new action game from Housemarque, set in a mysterious off-world colony and scheduled for 2026. The event also highlighted The Midnight Walk, a dark fantasy adventure from Moonhood, releasing on May 8, 2025, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, arriving on June 13, 2025.

Sony also announced PlayStation Plus Game Catalog updates, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Top Spin 2K25, and the first episode of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The event concluded with a mix of indie titles, DLC expansions, and new gameplay mechanics, solidifying PlayStation’s commitment to a diverse and innovative gaming lineup for 2025.
