Tornado Warnings Canceled in Tennessee, EF-1 Tornado Confirmed in Kentucky

A Tornado Warning issued for Sullivan, Washington, and Carter counties in Tennessee has been canceled by the National Weather Service (NWS) as of 10:50 p.m. on February 6, 2025. The warning was initially set to expire at 10:45 p.m. but was lifted shortly after. All Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in the area have since expired, with no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries.

Meanwhile, in Kentucky, the NWS confirmed a preliminary EF-1 tornado touched down in Hart County, south of Louisville, early on February 6. The tornado, with wind speeds reaching up to 95 mph, caused damage to barns, roofs, and trees, leaving a large debris field across the area. No injuries have been reported. The tornado struck near the borders of LaRue, Hardin, Green, and Grayson counties. Hardin County also experienced downed power lines and minor structural damage, though officials noted the region was fortunate to avoid more severe impacts.

Earlier in the day, several Kentucky counties, including Grayson County, were under a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warnings. However, all alerts expired by 10 a.m. on February 6. The NWS continues to monitor the region, with additional chances of severe weather expected later in the week.
