Tragic Loss of Rising Sports Reporter Adan Manzano
Adan Manzano, a 27-year-old sports reporter for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports, died unexpectedly on February 5, 2025, while covering the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Manzano, a rising star in sports journalism, was found dead in a hotel in Kenner, Louisiana, just outside New Orleans. He joined the Kansas City Chiefs Television Crew as a sideline reporter at the start of the 2024 NFL season and was covering his third consecutive Super Bowl at the time of his death. Tragically, Manzano’s death comes less than a year after the loss of his wife, Ashleigh LeeAnn Boyd, who died in a car crash on April 11, 2024. The couple leaves behind a young daughter, Eleanor. Manzano’s colleagues and employers expressed their grief, with Telemundo Kansas City General Manager Steve Downing calling him a “true professional” and Tico Sports President CiCi Rojas remembering him as a devoted father and loyal friend.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Manzano’s death, and his employers have pledged full cooperation with law enforcement. The sports community mourns the loss of a talented reporter who was passionate about connecting with Hispanic and Latino audiences through his work.
