U.S. Representative Nancy Mace Accuses Former Fiancé of Heinous Crimes

U.S. Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) delivered a nearly hour-long speech on the House floor on Monday, accusing her former fiancé, Patrick Bryant, and three other men of committing “some of the most heinous crimes against women imaginable,” including rape, physical abuse, and the possession of non-consensual photos and videos of women and underage girls. Mace claimed she accidentally uncovered evidence of these crimes in November 2023, which included graphic images and videos stored on Bryant’s phone. She also alleged that Bryant physically assaulted her at the end of their relationship and filmed her without her consent.

Bryant, a CEO and partner of a software development firm, denied the allegations in a statement, calling them “categorically false” and vowing to cooperate with legal processes to clear his name. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed it has been investigating allegations of assault, voyeurism, and harassment involving Bryant since December 2023, following a referral from the U.S. Capitol Police. The investigation remains active, with no charges filed as of yet.

Mace also criticized South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, accusing him of failing to prosecute the men despite being provided with what she described as “clear-cut and dry evidence.” Wilson’s office responded by stating that Mace had never approached him with the allegations and that his office had not received any reports or requests for assistance from law enforcement agencies regarding the matter. The office called Mace’s accusations “politically motivated,” as both Mace and Wilson are considered potential candidates for the 2026 South Carolina gubernatorial race.

During her speech, Mace encouraged victims of abuse to come forward and provided a contact number for reporting additional information. Her remarks on the House floor are protected under the “speech or debate clause,” which shields legislators from legal action for statements made during legislative proceedings. The case has drawn significant attention, with SLED’s investigation ongoing and the potential for further developments as more evidence is reviewed.
