67th Daytona 500; Race Time Moved Due to Rain Threat
The 67th annual Daytona 500, one of NASCAR’s most prestigious races, is set to take place at the Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Due to the threat of rain, NASCAR has moved the start time up by one hour to 1:30 p.m. ET. The race will air live on Fox and can be streamed on platforms such as Fox Sports, MAX, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV, and Sling.
The Daytona 500 marks the beginning of the 36-race Cup Series season, and this year’s event features a competitive field. Chase Briscoe, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, secured the pole position, marking the first time a Toyota has claimed the top spot in Daytona 500 qualifying. Other notable drivers include Austin Cindric, Bubba Wallace, and Martin Truex Jr., who is making a special appearance despite retiring from full-time racing last season.
The race will also see the NASCAR debut of four-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves, who aims to join the exclusive club of drivers who have won both the Indy 500 and Daytona 500. Additionally, former President Donald Trump is expected to attend the event, arriving at the speedway around 1:10 p.m. ET.
Weather remains a concern, with the National Weather Service predicting a 70% chance of showers before 3 p.m. ET. Fans can also follow the race on the radio via MRN or SiriusXM (Channel 90). The broadcast team for Fox includes Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer, and Tony Stewart in the booth.
