Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2; Lawless - A Crime-Themed Adventure Begins
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, titled “Lawless,” has officially launched, bringing a crime-themed season filled with new content, including map changes, weapons, and crossovers. The new season began on Friday, February 21, 2025, following the end of Chapter 6, Season 1, which concluded at 2 a.m. ET. Downtime for the update lasted several hours, with servers expected to be back online by early Friday morning.
The Lawless season introduces a Grand Theft Auto-inspired vibe, featuring train heists, bank robberies, and a new Battle Pass. Highlights include the return of fan-favorite character Midas, who first appeared in Chapter 2, Season 2, and the addition of Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat as part of the Battle Pass. The season also introduces dual-wielding weapons, such as an SMG and shotgun, adding a new dynamic to gameplay.
Map changes include the introduction of Crime City, an armored train, and new points of interest (POIs) like melting snow areas and the Turret Train. New weapons, such as the Mammoth Pistol and an unannounced shotgun, are also part of the update. Additionally, the Rocket Ram has been reimagined as the Rocket Drill.
The season’s antagonist, Fletcher Kane, a wolfman mob boss, serves as the “Big Bad” of the season. Players can encounter him during heists, and defeating him rewards the Mythic Double Down Pistol and the Unstoppable Medallion, which enhances sprint speed and enables a bash attack.
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, is set to run until May 2, 2025, with Season 3 expected to launch shortly after. The season also introduces a new in-game currency called Dill Bits, tied to the anthropomorphic pickle character Big Dill, though it does not carry over between matches.
Overall, the Lawless season promises a mix of chaos, new gameplay mechanics, and crossover content, making it one of the most ambitious updates in Fortnite’s history.
