Mac McClung of the G League’s Osceola Magic will aim for a historic three-peat at the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, set to take place on Saturday, February 15, at Chase Center in San Francisco. The event, part of All-Star Saturday Night, will also feature Matas Buzelis (Bulls), Stephon Castle (Spurs), and Andre Jackson Jr. (Bucks). McClung, who has already won the contest twice, could tie Nate Robinson for the most Slam Dunk championships in history if he secures a third victory. The competition will consist of two rounds, with five judges scoring each dunk between 40 and 50 points. The participant with the highest combined score will be crowned the winner.
McClung enters as the betting favorite at -175 odds, followed by Buzelis (+550), Castle (+600), and Jackson (+600). However, SportsLine expert Mike Barner, known for his successful NBA prop picks, has expressed skepticism about McClung’s chances, citing the unpredictable nature of the judging process. Barner has instead identified a longshot contender with “high-flying dunk potential” as his preferred pick.
