Phoenix Realtors Ends MLS Choice Program Under NAR Pressure
Under pressure from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Phoenix Realtors has discontinued its MLS Choice program, which allowed non-Realtors to access the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) at a discounted rate. The program, which offered MLS access and other services for half the price of a regular Realtor membership, was seen as a violation of NAR’s policies. The decision to end the program resolves the charter revocation proceedings initiated by NAR in December 2024 and brings Phoenix Realtors back into compliance with NAR’s Constitution and Bylaws.
NAR clarified that Phoenix Realtors will continue to provide non-Realtors access to the Arizona Regional MLS, as it has since 1996, but emphasized that this access does not constitute membership. The association also stated that the issue was never about MLS access but rather about ensuring compliance with NAR’s membership requirements. Phoenix Realtors CEO Andy Fegley noted that the organization worked with NAR to clarify the marketing around MLS Choice and introduce a revised offering called “non-member MLS access,” which aligns with NAR’s policies.
The resolution underscores NAR’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of its membership model amid challenges, including calls to make membership optional. Phoenix Realtors reaffirmed its commitment to the Realtor brand and its goal of supporting the success of its members and the broader real estate industry.
