O.J. Simpson, who hosted SNL in February 1978, was famously acquitted in the 1994 double-murder trial of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. However, he was later found liable for their wrongful deaths in a civil court and ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages. Simpson passed away in 2024 at the age of 76 after battling cancer.
Robert Blake, who hosted SNL in November 1982, was accused of murdering his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, in 2001. Bakley was shot and killed outside a Studio City restaurant where the couple had dined. Blake was acquitted of criminal charges in 2005 but was found liable in a civil wrongful death lawsuit and ordered to pay damages. He died in March 2023 at the age of 89.
