Warriors Dominate Kings with Stellar Team Performance
The Golden State Warriors secured a dominant 132-108 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The win snapped a five-game losing streak against the Kings and moved the Warriors a full game ahead for ninth place in the Western Conference.
The Warriors showcased their depth with four players scoring 20 or more points: Moses Moody and Buddy Hield each contributed 22 points, Brandin Podziemski added 21, and Stephen Curry chipped in 20. Golden State’s ball movement was exceptional, recording 40 assists on 50 made field goals, including 20 three-pointers. Defensively, the Warriors forced 20 turnovers and outscored the Kings 38-5 in points off turnovers.
Moses Moody, starting at power forward, delivered a season-high 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including five three-pointers. Rookie Quinten Post also impressed, going 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in the second quarter. Stephen Curry, despite a relatively quiet night by his standards, made history by tying Michael Jordan for the most games with 20 or more points by a guard after turning 35. This marked Curry’s 700th career 20-point game, a franchise record.
The Kings, who recently traded De’Aaron Fox for Zach LaVine, struggled defensively, allowing the Warriors to build a lead as large as 29 points. Sacramento’s defensive woes continued, as they rank 22nd in defensive rating since acquiring LaVine.
The Warriors will look to build on this momentum as they host the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday at Chase Center, where Andre Iguodala’s jersey retirement ceremony will take place.
