In Massachusetts, an updated Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Northern and Southern Worcester, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Middlesex counties until Sunday night. The NWS warns of heavy mixed precipitation, including up to an inch of additional snow and light ice accumulations, with wind gusts reaching 45 mph. Slick roads, potential power outages, and downed tree branches are expected. Residents are urged to delay travel if possible and to drive with extreme caution if necessary.
Meanwhile, in Oregon, the Cascades region, including North Oregon Cascades and the Cascades of Marion, Linn, and Lane counties, is under a Winter Storm Warning until Monday afternoon. The NWS forecasts up to 6 inches of additional snow above 3,500 feet, with slick roads and hazardous travel conditions expected. Backcountry recreation is discouraged, and drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra time for travel.
