id Software has announced the release of *Doom: The Dark Ages* on May 15, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. This prequel to *Doom (2016)* and *Doom Eternal* introduces new gameplay mechanics like the Shield Saw and expanded melee combat, alongside large-scale battles and sandbox levels. The game will be available in Standard, Premium, and Collector’s Editions, with a focus on a single-player campaign and no multiplayer mode. Preorders are now open, with the game also launching on Xbox Game Pass.
